HOW TO MAKE GRINDER SALAD STACKER

Mason Jar Salad

The Grinder salad was inspired by the flavors of the grinder sandwich, featuring ingredients like sliced meats, cheese, and an array of vegetables etc. The salad is placed in a airtight seal mason jar to help preserve the freshness and crispness of the ingredients by minimizing exposure to air, which can lead to wilting and spoilage.

HOW TO MAKE GRINDER SALAD STACKER

Description

Mason jar salads can last longer compared to traditional mixed salads due to the layering technique The airtight seal of the mason jar helps preserve the freshness and crispness of the ingredients because it  minimizes air exposure , which can lead to wilting and spoilage. This technique is perfect for meal prep. Preparing salads in advance allows for quick and convenient meals throughout the week. You can make several salads on the weekend, store them in the fridge, and have a nutritious meal ready to go whenever you need it. This salad recipe can last up to 3-5 day in the fridge.

Instructions

  1. assembling

When assembling a mason jar salad, you can layer the ingredients in a visually appealing way. The dressing is added to the bottom of the jar, and then the ingredients are layered in a specific order, with sturdier ingredients closer to the dressing and delicate greens at the top. This layering helps to keep the dressing away from the greens until it's time to eat, preventing them from becoming soggy.  To make the dressing for 6-8 mason jar in a 32 oz you will need 1/4 cup Banana Peppers , 1 cup mayo , 1 or 2 table spoon vinegar, 2 or 3 table spoon oil , 1 teaspoon each of Mustard seed powder , Dry Oregano , All purpose , Garlic Salt, Red Pepper Flakes and Black Pepper . Mix well . Adjust to the amount of using or to your liking.

  2. Topping Layers

I like to layer the ingredients in the following order  after the  dressing ; bell peppers , corns , onions ,chicken , banana peppers, tomatoes , lettuce and parmesan cheese. Having the crunchy veggies at the bottom since they are a  sturdier vegetable . Feel free to modify this recipe or create your own variations based on your preferences and the ingredients you have on hand.

  3. Lettuce

The airtight  mason jar helps maintain the freshness of the salad ingredients, keeping them crisp and flavorful. This will minimizes the risk of bacterial contamination, which can occur in traditional salad containers or bags that are not sealed as tightly. The dressing at the bottom acts as a barrier, preventing excess moisture from reaching the greens. This helps to maintain the crispness of the salad and prevents it from turning limp. Here I'm using Romaine lettuce . Romaine lettuce is a good source of essential nutrients, including vitamins A, C, and K.Feel free to use lettuce of choice.

  4. Mason Jar in Fridge

To ensure your mason jar salads last as long as possible I  recommend using ;  fresh and high-quality ingredients, make sure the mason jars are clean and dry before assembling the salads, store the mason jar salads in the refrigerator, consume the salads within 3-5 days of preparation, depending on the freshness of the ingredients used.

Please  note that while mason jar salads can last longer than traditional mixed salads, they are still perishable food items. It is best to use  your best judgment if you notice any signs of spoilage, such as an off smell, mold, or slimy texture, discard the salad immediately.

  5. Serve and Enjoy

When ready to eat . There's  no need for any extra step . Just dump  in a bowl and enjoy your salad. Whether it's for work, school, or a picnic, you can easily pack a mason jar salad without worrying about leaks or spills.
